What is cross country skiing?
Cross Country skiing is form of skiing where people propel themselves across the snow using skis and poles. It is mostly popular in Canada, Alaska, and northern Europe.
When, and what was it made for?
Cross country skiing originated in fennoscanadian countries (Finland area) in prehistoric times, but it was still widely used in the 19th century as a way from moving place to place in winter. It is still widely used today in the Olympics and as a hobby.
